Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, also known professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to sign for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The label released her first EP, Pho, in October 2016, and she was able getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. She continued to upload her tracks online through 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. In 2015, she was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole had her send her songs for the Dreamville Team in the following year as he wanted Rihanna to be able work alongside her on some of the songs. On December 28, 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna had signed with Dreamville Records. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and performed as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest on two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on September 5. Then on the 9th November the singer released two more singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Then, in November 2013, she dropped No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed alongside Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. A music video was released on February 20, 2019 to go along with the track. Within a week, it had over 3 million views. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
